State Police are investigating a crash that occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning.
According to police officials, troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 4:14 a.m. on the Turnpike north on the outer roadway to the western spur near milepost 105.9 in Newark.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a Toyota Corolla was traveling north in the area of milepost 105.9.
According to police, the rear of the Toyota was struck by a Honda Accord. The impact caused the Toyota to cross the roadway and strike the right guardrail.
Police said that as a result of the crash, the driver of the Toyota was ejected.
A tractor-trailer traveling north struck the driver. No identities are being released at the moment.
The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available at this time.
