State Police Capture Suspect Accused of Shots Fired, Stabbing in Newark

Police and EMS are on the scene of shots fired that rang out in the 200 block of Renner Ave. a short time ago. 

Upon arrival to the scene, officers found a male victim suffering a non-life threatening stab wound at that location.

The victim reported that two black males (a heavy-set black male wearing a white t-shirt and lime green shorts with breads and a black male with blue jeans, no shirt, and tattoo on his face) approached and fired a weapon then cut him on the hand with an object at around 2:45 p.m 

Heavy police presence including the NJ State Police canvassed the area where the State Trooper noticed the male suspect who was wearing  green shorts and fit the description of the suspect on Eckert Ave.  and Schuyler Ave. 

The suspect was immediately placed in custody. 

This was possibly a burglary in progress.
