Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a stabbing incident that injured a man at a location in the city Sunday evening.
According to police, at approximately 9:17 p.m., police were called to the vicinity of North 6th Street and Park Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found a male suffering multiple stab wounds at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital in serious condition but stable condition.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene and remains at-large. Police said there were no other injuries reported.
