Stabbing Suspect Sought by Police in Edison

A violent early morning stabbing has police in Edison on the search for the suspect who is responsible for the act.

Police are looking for a 2001-2010 grey or gold Jeep Cherokee with a smashed out driver side window and heavy front end damage that fled the scene of a stabbing that happened in the parking lot of Menlo Mall located on the 50's block of Parsonage Road sometime around 3 a.m.

Units arriving to the scene of the stabbing noticed the vehicle speed away when they began to closely follow the vehicle.

Officers used lights and sirens in an attempt to pull the vehicle over but the driver continued to speed away from cops ultimately causing them to lose site of the vehicle in the area of Rt. 1 South at Rt. 18.

The suspect is described by authorities as a thin build black male who is 5'7", 130 pounds and around the age of 20-years-old.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, and a silver or light colored jacket.

Authorities reportedly located a weapon at the scene.

The condition of the victim has not been released at this time by authorities.
