A crime scene was established inside at a residence in the 200 block of South 9th Street after a stabbing this afternoon left a woman injured at that location.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing with a female victim injured shortly before 3:30 p.m. where arriving units arrived to find a woman (reported to be in her mid twenties) bleeding heavily from a laceration.
EMS rushed the woman to University Hospital where she suffered serious injuries, but not reported as life threatening during her transport.
One person was detained by officers and is believed to be the suspect responsible for the stabbing.
No other person was injured in the incident that is reported to be domestic.
