A stabbing incident Tuesday night in Newark has resulted in the hospitalization of one individual and the detention of a woman by local police.
Officers were called to the 800 block of North 6th Street around 10 p.m. following reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, Newark Police discovered a victim with stab wounds to their abdomen and arm. The injured party was transported to University Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities detained a woman found at the scene as they began to piece together the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The motive for the stabbing is still under investigation, and police are actively working to determine what led up to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials seek further information to aid in their inquiries.
