Police in Newark are attempting to find the motive behind a violent stabbing that left a person injured in Newark on Wednesday evening.
According to police, officials at the University Hospital contacted authorities when an unidentified person entered the emergency department suffering a stab wound at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Police then focused their attention in the vicinity of the Clinton and Elizabeth avenues intersection where they believe the stabbing occurred.
The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening according to preliminary reports.
The incident remains under investigation.
