Good morning, New Jersey! My friends and family in Newark and across the North Jersey region are waking up to a milder start as the new week begins with a taste of spring.
As of Monday morning, it’s 49 degrees in downtown Newark, and conditions are expected to stay dry and comfortable throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, skies will be partly sunny with a high near 67 degrees. A light southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph will accompany the warming trend.
It's the perfect day to get outside and enjoy seasonal sights, such as the blooming cherry blossoms at Branch Brook Park.
Looking ahead to tonight, clouds will begin to move in, with showers likely between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Overnight lows will dip to around 51 degrees.
