Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to 41 degrees this morning, with today's forecast promising the warmest weather of the week. As winter loosens its grip (for now), a taste of spring is in store, with temperatures expected to climb into the mid-50s by this afternoon.

Good morning, New Jersey! If you’ve been longing for a break from the winter chill, today is your best bet. Downtown Newark is set to reach around 56 degrees by 1 p.m., making for a fantastic and unseasonably warm day.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 55, with a west wind of 6 to 11 mph.

Tonight, clouds will increase, and there's a 50% chance of showers after 4 a.m., with temperatures dropping to around 41 degrees.

Enjoy this beautiful spring-like day, Newark—warmer weather won’t last forever!
