South River Police are investigating the motive for a stabbing that injured a person on Friday night.
Police responded to reports of an injured person at an address on Leland Avenue shortly before 7:55 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering a severe stab wound at that location, according to preliminary reports.
Police say the victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for treatment.
There were no immediate reports of arrests at this time.
