Authorities have released the identity of the 26-year-old Somerset motorcyclist killed this morning on Interstate 287.
Police responded to Interstate 287 southbound near mile marker 11.8, at approximately 3:43 a.m. for a report of an accident between several vehicles and a motorcycle.
According to the initial investigation, Jeffrey Chaparro, 26, of Somerset was riding a 2006 Honda Ruckus when the bike tipped over and he fell off and slid into the center lane. He was subsequently struck by a 2016 Mazda 6 and four additional vehicles.
Chaparro was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:56 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
