Somerset County authorities announced the arrest of Antonio Galindo-Salazar, age 27, Somerset, for a sexual assault that occurred on June 19-20 in Franklin Township.
According to authorities, on June 20, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office received information that an adult female was alleging that she was sexually assaulted in Franklin Township.
Officials say the adult female victim was interviewed by a detective from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit.
The victim stated that she had been drinking alcohol at a residence in Franklin Township.
According to officials, the victim stated she later woke up in a bedroom to find Galindo-Salazar on top of her.
Detectives conducted an investigation from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit and detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department.
On January 25, as a result of this investigation, Defendant Galindo-Salazar was arrested without incident in Franklin Township and transported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for processing.
Defendant Galindo-Salazar was charged with 2nd-degree, Sexual Assault and was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
