The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is actively involved investigation that involved a shooting with injuries at a location in Franklin Township on Tuesday evening.
Officials would not immediately confirm the severity of the injuries. According to preliminary reports, just before 8 p.m., gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Philips Road and Matilda Avenue, sending police to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, police closed Matilda Avenue between Franklin Boulevard and Ralph Street to secure the scene, according to police.
The motive for the shooting has not been confirmed at this time.
There are no reports of suspects arrested as of Wednesday morning.
