On Wednesday, May 10, at approximately 01:16 P.M., the Monroe Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of Kippen Drive & Castlebay Drive, Williamstown, for the victim of an apparent parachuting accident.
According to officials, upon arrival, the victim, identified as 48-year-old Timothy Joseph Slachta of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, was located deceased as a result of the fall.
Officials say it was discovered that the victim had departed from SkyDive Cross Keys in Williamstown.
The cause of the parachute failure is still under investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, Monroe Township Police Department, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
