Elizabeth Police are investigating an area of the waterfront where skeletal remains were discovered on Friday.
According to police, the fire department was conducting training on the waterfront near Elizabeth Avenue and Front Street when they observed what appeared to be skeletal remains in the water
Elizabeth Police, EMS, State Police Marine Unit, Union County Sheriffs ID Unit were all present at the scene.
It was not immediately clear if the remains were human or animal.
