Newark Police officials are looking into the motive behind a shots-fired incident in a South Ward community on Tuesday night.
Police say at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 77 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Officers arrived and found evidence of a shooting, but no victims were found after they searched the area.
Police say several shell casings were covered at the scene after the ShotSpotter activation.
The suspects fled the scene and are at large.
