The Newark Police Department is investigating a shooting in the North Ward that resulted in property damage to multiple vehicles.
The incident, which occurred around midnight near 139 Parker Street close to Park Avenue, was initially detected by a ShotSpotter device that alerted authorities to gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, police units discovered shell casings and identified at least three vehicles that bullets had struck.
A thorough canvass was conducted around Barringer High School, but no victims were located.
According to initial reports, two Black male suspects were seen firing at unknown targets before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored car.
As of now, the suspects remain at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
Newark Police are actively seeking any information related to the incident and are working to determine the motive behind the shooting.
