Newark police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the South Ward on Sunday evening.
At around 6:10 p.m., authorities responded to reports of gunfire at 785 Clinton Avenue, near South 17th Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene.
The area was immediately canvassed by law enforcement in search of potential victims. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the aftermath of the shooting.
As of now, the suspect responsible for the incident remains at large, with police efforts to locate and apprehend the individual ongoing.
The motive behind the shooting is yet unclear.
