Newark Police are investigating a shooting that caused property damage in one of the city's neighborhoods on Saturday afternoon.According to initial reports, at around 12:30 p.m., police units were dispatched to 174 Dickerson Street following multiple reports and an alert from a ShotSpotter device.
Upon arrival, officers secured the neighborhood and found shell casings at the scene.
A thorough search of the area revealed no victims; however, an unoccupied vehicle was discovered with bullet damage.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting.
The investigation continues as Newark Police work to determine the circumstances that led to this incident of gunfire and property damage.
