A police-involved shooting at the Lyndhurst library this afternoon left the alleged armed suspect dead.
Police responded to the library, located on the 300 block of Valley Brook Avenue, for a report of a man armed with a knife, according to initials reports.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., the borough man, later identified as 36-year-old Kevin Allen, got in some sort of altercation with officers on the second floor of the library where police shot the man. The suspect was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
No officers were reportedly injured but two of the three officers were transported to hospital for what authorities described as stress.
