Police are reporting no injuries in a shooting that occurred in a section of Newark's South Ward early Monday morning.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the 100 block of Ridgewood Avenue just before 1 a.m. when a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of the shooting.
Units arrived at the scene and found several shell casings, but after police searched the area, no victims were found.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
