Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who is wanted for firing a gun on a street in the city on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of South Orange Avenue and South 9th Street after gunfire rang out shortly before 10 p.m.
Police officers arrived at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after they searched the area around the housing complex, no injuries were reported.
According to authorities, last night's shots fired incident follows a shooting that killed a man at the housing project on Friday. Officials say an unidentified suspect arrived at the housing project armed with a gun and fired at the victim at point blank range then fled the scene. Both shooting fatalities are under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force.
