Authorities in Elizabeth are investing two shots fired incidents reported in the city during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, several calls reporting shots fired that rang out on Bond Street had police on the scene before 11:55 p.m. where officers canvassing the area found shell casings but a further search of the neighborhood did not yield any victims.
A short time later, police were called to the vicinity of Inslee Place and 3rd Street after receiving reports of shots fired just before midnight.
Several police units arrived at the scene and began to canvass the area for victims and possible suspects.
According to preliminary reports, officers found shell casings and property damage but no victims were found.
A car was struck by bullets at this location reports said.
The motive for both shootings remains under investigation. There were no arrests reported.
