A victim suffering injury from gunfire that arrived at University Hospital in Newark has cops in Newark and East Orange investigating.
Hospital officials contacted Newark Police when a male victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm entered the hospital at around 4:30 a.m.
The victim told authorities that he was struck by gunfire in the area of South Orange Ave. and Stuyvesant shortly before entering the hospital. The victim is believed to have been transported to the emergency room by taxi.
A search of several blocks around the South Orange Ave. had police locating evidence of a shooting in the 200 block of Sanford Street in East Orange.
There were no immediate arrests reported.
