Elizabeth Police are looking for the motive behind a shooting that injured a male in a section of the city on Thursday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 1059 Madison Avenue around 8:20 p.m.
Units arrived and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Authorities have not released any information on the suspects at this time.
