Police in Newark are looking into the motive for a shooting that left a male injured early Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports, officials at Clara Maass Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department at approximately 1:55 a.m.
The victim reported to police that the shooting occurred in the vicinity of May and Wakeman Avenue shortly before arriving at the hospital according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
The victim remains in stable condition according to reports.
