Police in Newark setup a crime scene in a neighborhood in Newark to investigate a shooting that was reported overnight.
Officials at the East Orange General Hospital contacted police when the victim, suffering apparent gunshot injuries, entered the hospital's emergency department just before 1:45 a.m.
The victim reported to police that the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Sout 20th Street shortly before they arrived at the hospital.
According to reports, a male suspect approached the victim and began to fire shots in his direction.
One of the victim's injuries is reported as critical while the other victim is stable according to authorities.
The shooting remains under investigation.
