Police are on the scene of a shooting that happened a short time ago in the city's South Ward.
Gunfire rang out at around 9:30 p.m. sending police to the 300 block of Frelinghuysen Ave. where one person was found shot and fatally injured inside of a vehicle.
According to unofficial reports, was a livery cab driver with Classic of Newark.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene conducting the investigation.
