A reported shooting that happened in Irvington Center this afternoon has police investigating.
Police responded to reports of shots fired on Clinton Ave. near Springfield Ave. at around 4:30 p.m. where they arrived to the scene to find shell casings.
According to witnesses at the scene, a male suspect armed with a weapon reportedly chased a man down Clinton Ave. where he began to fire rounds at a male victim.
The victim was able to make his way into one of the stores near the old Castle movie theater where he frantically fell to the floor for cover.
Store employees quickly dialed 911 where responding officers setup a crime scene in the area and searched for a suspect.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no injuries reported.
