There were non-life threatening injuries reported for the victims of a shooting that occurred in Newark's East Ward this morning -Tuesday-.
According to authorities, reports of shots fired sent police to the 100 block of Pennington Street at approximately 1:45 a.m.
Units arrived at the location and set up a crime scene when they found that a shooting occurred. Officers found two victims suffering gunshot wounds after a brief search of the area.
According to reports, one of the victims suffered a gunshot wound to the arm while the other was transported to University Hospital with a hand injury.
The motive for the shootings remains under investigation. There were no arrests immediately reported.
