Police in Paterson are on the search for a suspect who fired shots in a neighborhood that struck and injured one person Friday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Temple and North 3rd streets around 3:20 a.m.
Units arrived to find an unidentified male suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Police said the victim was transported to Joseph's Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The victim is the 74th person struck by gunfire in Paterson since January, according to Paterson Police.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
