An investigation is underway into a shooting of juvenile in Plainfield on Sunday evening. According to authorities, Plainfield Police received numerous calls regarding shots fired in the area of the 600 Block of West 4th Street. Patrol units arrived and located a juvenile male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The juvenile was immediately transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Police arrested a Union County juvenile and charged him with one count of 2nd Degree Aggravated Assault, one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, and one count of Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes in the second 2nd Degree. The juvenile was subsequently arrested by Plainfield Police without incident in the 300 Block of Liberty Street on Monday. The juvenile was transported to the Union County Juvenile Detention Center. This investigation is still ongoing.
