The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has been alerted to a shooting incident that occurred in Paterson overnight, prompting an investigation by police.
The incident came to light around 10:50 p.m. when officials at St. Joseph's Hospital notified Paterson Police after a person arrived at the emergency room with a bullet wound to their hand.
Following the report, police searched the area near Park Avenue and Madison Avenue for a possible crime scene.
Fortunately, the victim's injuries were deemed non-life threatening.
At present, details regarding the motive for the shooting and the circumstances surrounding the incident have not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the matter to ascertain further information and ensure the safety of the community.
