The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting incident believed to have occurred in Garfield overnight.
The case came to light early this morning when officials at St. Joseph's Hospital alerted the police after a male victim walked into the emergency room with a gunshot wound around 1:30 a.m.
The victim, whose injuries are reported as non-life-threatening, informed Paterson Police at the hospital that the incident took place at an undisclosed location in Garfield.
Following this information, Garfield Police were promptly notified and joined the investigation.
As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear as detectives work to pinpoint the exact location of the incident.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities seek further details about the event.
