Shots fired incident that occurred along a busy highway was sparked by a road rage incident this afternoon in Elmwood Park.
Police have not released many details regarding the circumstances regarding the incident but according to preliminary reports, police responded the Route 46 near Boulevard after receiving reports of shots fired.
Officers arrived at the scene and found evidence that shooting occurred then closed off all lanes of the highway for the investigation.
Officials have since reopened the road just before 4:45 p.m.
There were no severe injuries immediately reported.
