The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating an overnight shooting death in Hamilton Township, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
According to police, on Tuesday, May 18, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Hamilton police responded to a shooting at the 7-11 on Lalor Street.
Police said that officers arrived on the scene and located the victim, identified as 23-year-old Katherine Montenegro of Trenton, on the ground in the parking lot suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
According to officials, Montenegro was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
