Authorities in Newark reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident that erupted in a South Ward community Monday.
The late-night shooting occurred shortly before 11:25 p.m. near the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Chancellor Avenue.
A ShotSpotter activated in the area and alerted police of multiple rounds of gunfire and when officers arrived, they found several shell casings.
Police found no victims after canvassing the area.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been arrested.
