Authorities are investigating a shots fired incident in Newark’s North Ward on Tuesday night after shell casings were recovered at the scene.The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. near 170 Manchester Place, where a ShotSpotter device alerted police to gunfire in the area.
Units from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office responded and located ballistics near the train tracks. Despite a thorough search of the area, no victims were found.
Newark’s Shooting Response Team has been called in to assist with the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
