Authorities in Newark reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident that erupted at a housing development in Newark's Ironbound section on Wednesday night.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at the Hyatt Court Housing Complex on Horatio Court just before 8:55 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found multiple shell casings on the ground, but a check of the area indicated no victims, according to preliminary information.
Police believe that a silver or light-colored BMW occupied by suspects sped from the scene after the shooting.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
