Police in Paterson are investigating a violent attack of a person that caused severe injuries at a location in the city on Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 200 block of Harrison Street at approximately 1:35 a.m. after they received reports of an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene and found a person suffering severe injuries after being struck in the head with a baseball bat at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital where doctors treated the patient's cracked skull according to reports.
Police have not released the motive behind the attack.
The incident remains under investigation by the Paterson Police Department.
