NJ State Police Officials are looking into the cause of a crash that severely injured a person on a highway in Union County Friday night.
Police have not released official detail on the crash, but according to preliminary information, at approximately 9:40 a.m., state troopers responded to the westbound lanes of I-78 just at the Springfield line to investigate reports of an overturned vehicle.
Units arrived and found the unconscious ad unresponsive victim lying on the ground at that location.
Police say CPR was administered on the victim before being transported to an area hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
