Authorities are investigating a pedestrian strike with severe injuries on a highway near the Lakewood Howell Township Border on Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were dispatched to the vicinity of US-9 near Alexander Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person before 2:25 a.m.
Emergency repsonders arrived and found a severely injured unidentified person lying in the roadway after a vehicle struck them at that location.
The condition of the victim was initially reported as "life-threatening."
The incident remains under investigation.
