Severe Injuries Reported for Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Elizabeth

A pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a car in Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon, prompting an investigation by the Union County Fatal Crash Team.Ice CreamThe incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Westfield Avenue and North Broad Street.

Elizabeth Police and EMS units responded to reports of an injured person and found a seriously injured male lying in the roadway.

According to Elizabeth Police officials, the pedestrian was struck by a female driver who was turning at the intersection. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement officers.

The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he is being treated for critical injuries.

Local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the Union County Fatal Crash Team is assisting in determining the specifics of the collision.
