Hudson County authorities are investigating a shooting that severely injured a male at a location in Jersey City Tuesday night.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 167 Fulton Street at around 11:40 p.m. sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, police found a male lying on the ground suffering gunshot wounds according to police. The victim's injuries were reported as life-threatening.
Officers immediately taped off the area and began a search for a black male suspect who was last observed on the street wearing a face mask and carrying a gun.
Police say the suspect fired multiple rounds at the victim then ran for the scene.
Hudson County authorities have not confirmed a fatality at this time.
