There are severe injuries reported for at least one person occupying a vehicle that crashed into a sound barrier on a highway in Passaic County.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the southbound lanes of NJ-21 at exit 14 on the Clifton-Passaic border to investigate reports of a collision at approximately 3:07 a.m.
Rescue crews arrived and found a vehicle left the highway and slammed into a wall that ultimately collapsed on the car according to reports.
Emergency crews found an unconscious and unresponsive person inside the vehicle.
As of 5 am today, our staff could only confirm life-threatening injuries for that victim. Clifton Police units were on the scene handling the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
