A fast moving fire that broke out in a house left nearly a dozen people displaced this morning.
Fire quickly spread in a single family three story house located in the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue at around 10 a.m. where firefighters arrived to the scene after receiving reports of an occupant possibly trapped inside the residence.
An immediate search of the house came up empty for injured occupants.
Crews focused their attention on the basement of the house where they extinguished a bulk of the flames that began to spread throughout the home.
Two firefighters and at least one resident suffered non-life threatening injuries.
About a dozen residents needed to be relocated.
Orange and Maplewood provided mutual assistance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
