There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that sent one person to the hospital overnight in Trenton.
Gunfire erupted in the area of East State Street and Hampton Avenue at around 11 p.m. sending police to the scene where they located the victim suffering serious injuries after being struck by gunfire at that location according to initial reports.
The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center reports said.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and a possible suspect.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
