Police in Newark are investigating an overnight incident where a 6-year-old girl fell from a window of a residence in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Utopia Apartments located in the 300 block of 14th Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m. after they received reports of an injured person.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found the unconscious girl laying on the ground after he reportedly fell three stories from a bathroom window of a large brick building.
EMS rushed the child to University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities are looking into the moments that led to the child falling from the window.
There were no other injuries or arrests reported.
