Authorities in Bergen County are investigating a violent early-morning crash on US-46 in Hasbrouck Heights that left two people seriously injured.
The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. near Terrace Avenue. Emergency responders arrived to find a severely damaged vehicle and two injured individuals.
One person sustained life-threatening injuries, while another suffered ssevereinjuries.
As part of the investigation, police closed US-46 in both directions from NJ-17 to the crash site.
The highway is expected to remain closed into early Sunday morning, causing some delays for motorists in the area.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the incident.
Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes while the investigation continues.
