An overnight assault of two people at an address in Plainfield has authorities investigating.
Exact circumstances on what occurred during the incident is pending police information but at around 6:45 p.m., police were called to the 20's block of Sycamore Street after receiving several reports of an assault in progress at that location.
Arriving units found two victims bleeding and suffering serious injuries after being assaulted according to preliminary reports from the scene.
The pair were rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where their injuries have not been officially disclosed.
The motive for the assaults are under investigation.
There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
